Quick Tip: Searching for Username

The Chowhound Team Jun 24, 2006 02:50 AM

Use the advanced search, which you can access by clicking the "search" button in the top middle of every page. Then click "advanced". When the box drops down, enter the user name (make sure there's no text in any of the other search boxes), and then click the "search" button (not the one at the top of the page).

Once the site gets going, it will be better. For now, it's hard to see which of my posts might have had some responses on the old board without checking them out first.

Also, it would be nice to see when first looking at a topic who's responded, as sometimes the responder is someone I take seriously and will look at his or her posts (yes I know I can bookmark but before the names would just jump out at me) - maybe a schematic tree of some kind as a sidebar.

Don't know if this will help with your problem any, but you can bookmark any users who you want to track, and then can look at their posts via "myChow."

It only seems to work with names who've posted since the switch to the new format. Names on older posts aren't clickable.
