i previously posted this on the help page but feel it may be better suited for this page.

is there any way to retrieve any previous posts we have bookmarked? maybe with the post # at the end of the url? i have more than 100 ch bookmarks that i can no longer access.

besides this, love the new site.

thanks,
ethan

Our dev team is working on a possible fix. No promises. Hey, at least we have a working search engine, to find stuff again. And it's pretty cool we have all the old data at all (it took a lot of work to import).

Just curious: What kind of numbers are we talkin' here? Gigs, Terabytes, Peta...

According to a coder of the software, there were 1.8 million posts transferred.

I notice that if I search for my own name it only finds 30 or so posts, when I know for a fact that I have hundreds. Also, they only span the years 2001 to 2005, and I think I've been posting since 97 or 98.

I'm impressed with the in-site search. Unfortunately, if you don't know the content of the post, it might be difficult to find it from a bookmark.

Maybe some kind soul could write a script that takes old bookmarks and converts them to new URLs?

I have hundreds and hundreds of old pages saved, representing hours and hours of research for traveling to different countries. It's kind of a bummer to lose them all.

Not sure where you are getting the message that they are lost... Jim says they're working on a fix and will limplement it if possible,

So then they are possibly lost, not lost :-)
