He was here Friday through Sunday and is gone now... on his way to Beirut. Friends of mine saw him at the Hollywood Farmers Market at oh-dark-thirty on Sunday morning.

I saw him there at around 11 the same day. He's a sweetie.

He was at Vroman's in Pasadena Sunday at 2. We got there half an hour early and there was just barely any standing room left. He did his usual very friendly and insanely funny presentation - read just one short excerpt and went straight to questions. Got a picture of him with my wife.

To round out the excitement, Bill Buford was there on Friday night for HIS book tour, and he was almost as funny as Bourdain. I galloped through his book in the course of Friday night and Saturday - a great read, and lots of good advice both for home cooks (tips from the pros) and chef wannabees (mostly NO YOU DON'T).

If you wish to chat online with him, he's having a book reading on BN.com (go to the Book Clubs). Hopefully it's Tony himself.
