Can't find a good wine rack
Hi, I'm looking for a simple wine rack to put in my basement. Nothing fancy or refrigerated. I'd like something that holds 50 bottles or so but isn't really tall. I've checked out wine enthusiast but they only have tall ones or small ones or weird modular things that I don't trust. Any recommendations?

I know you said you checked here, but what's wrong with this: http://www.wineenthusiast.com/designe...
It's only about 3' tall and holds 60 bottles.Actually, you may want to take another look at the modular units you're "afraid of". With the weight of full bottles in them, they're sturdier than you'd think.

And Pmurray escapes your clever observation because................???????
These things show up at the bottom of other topics and people post to them as Pmurray did. Actually I have often posted on Site Talk asking why the site lets posts that old show up at all. It just got to the point where it's easier to not care any more. Once in a while I just don't notice the date two posts up from where I'm looking.

A very good store online that has what you are looking for is Wooden You Shelving. Visit their website here: http://www.woodenyoushelving.com

This is about as simple and functional as they get.
I believe they stack. I don't have one, but some friends
have several and are happy with them.›1 Reply-
re: Jef
If you are looking for something really inexpensive then a metal frame storage rack shown in the link works. The trick is to mount the shelves upside down so that the lip of the shelf holds the bottles from falling.

re: Robert Lauriston
This is the very rack that I have (I have the 24" high one that holds 32 bottles). It's sturdy and easy to put together - no screws, you just pound the dovetailed pieces into each other. When I pounded wrong and split a piece off, I just glued it with Elmer's, and it's fine. They stack very well and are very stable.
