Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations show on the Travel Channel starts Monday, July 25th at 10PM.
I loved the Cooks Tour show and his book Kitchen Confidential.
I'll never forget him describing a dining experience as "like wearing mink underwear".
"This is like wearing mink underwear while driving a rolls royce"
haha. Classic Bourdain. Best. Show. Ever.
Saw an ad for it last night where he destroyed his "previous network" by, amongst other things, claiming that they made him stage drinking binges without letting actual drunks make it to the air. He promises gen-u-ine drunk a-holes in their natural habitat on this new show on his new more permissive network. I CAN'T WAIT!!! It was obvious (and very painful to watch) on his "previous network" that we weren't getting the real Bourdain deal. Cheers to Travel Channel if they really do let him do his thing.
Hope the prissy Canadian Food Network carries the show.Anything that comes close to his "Cook's Tour" book should be worthwhile.
Thank you. Thank You. Thank You.
I had seen a commercial but forgot the name and my Tivo didn't find anything with his name attached to it. Now I need to save it in to my favs
...and if you EVER get the chance to catch him on, say, a book tour appearance do NOT miss it. The man is more fun in a room full of people than he ever was on TV, if you can believe that. He was as potty-mouthed in person, too, in a room full of little old ladies from Pasadena (really!), and they loved it, as did my wife and I.
And then I took the book home and followed his recipe for duck confit, which was in its way even more fun...
