Tipping at Buffet Brunch

How much is appropriate for tipping the waitperson at a decent quality buffet brunch. The server will normally supply beverages and may, or may not clear the used plates and supply clean ones for second trips.
I always thought 10% was the norm for this level of service. Any opposing views in either direction?

    I usually only go to buffet brunch on special occasions like Mother's Day and they always automatically add the tip on to make sure they get it but perhaps it is done differently around here.
