Strawberries and Pepper
While traveling in Montreal last week, I had a delicious amuse.
In a shot glass they served cold pureed strawberries with a dash of black pepper stirred-in.
I never would have thought to put these two together, but it was delicious.

At a local farmers market last weekend a vendor was selling strawberry and black pepper preserves...thought it sounded awful...tried a bite... bought three jars.
