The Stinking Rose in LA

Anyone have any current reviews of the Stinking Rose in Beverly Hills? All I could find was from 2002.
Love garlic & would like to have my birthday there. How about their cigar lounge?
Don't know about the one in LA but the one here in SF is basically a tourist joint with very average food. To the best of my knowledge, no cigar lounge with this one.
There was a Stinking Rose string on the L.A. Board within the last 6 months, but I can't find it. Bottom line = all (I think) the reviews were negative and to stay away; I know mine defintely was. There are other places that have garlic, just ask them to heap it on (I sometimes request 50 megatons). One thing is the ambiance is really different, like a magic carpet ride at an old tired amusement park.
i went for the first time recently and although not exceptional, it definately wasnt dissapointing. i had the filet mignon, bagna calda, and a few other things. there is this raw garlic stuff on the table for your bread which is great, but next time i will wait until my entre comes so i can actually taste it haha
I have really fond memories of the Stinking Rose; as one of the first restaurants I found that carried Gundlach Bundschu wine, their redolent lamb shank, and the lovely bagna cauda. It got to the point where I would go and order the bagna cauda and bottle of wine and then an entree which would promptly be brought home because I was so full on bread...
It doesn't much matter what you order because it will be totally overpowered by the garlic.
If you really like garlic though this would be the place to go.
