Anyone tried "Archer Farms" brand?

I was picking some things up from my local Target (Los Angeles) and I noticed that "Archer Farms" has a large line of hot chocolate mixes. Has anyone tried any of these? Specifically the white hot chocolate mix? If so, what were your thoughts?

Thanks!

I've bought their frozen pizza, bread, and their chili pepper pasta. It wasn't half bad. I really liked the pasta and haven't found anything comparable since.

I've never tried the hot chocolate mix, but I have tried a number Archer farms products. So far, I've loved their roast beef, kettle fried turkey, parmesan garlic potato chips, frozen pizza, pistchio-cherry granola bars, blueberry flax cereal, coffee, dried fruit strips, italian soda, pasta, and plenty of others.

So far, the only things i've tried that were bad were salsa, yogurt, take-and-bake bread, regular white bread, and tea.

While not all of their products are slam dunks, on the whole, they deliver a great value for the price.

i have a feeling you might be talking about Archer Farms' "indulgent drinking chocolate" line - if so, it is AWESOME. comes in a 12-oz can, about $7.50, consists of tiny pellets of chocolate which melt when mixed with hot milk. it comes in regular and white chocolate; i'm pretty sure they discontinued the other flavors, including my favorite, Mocha, so if you see those, grab them. this stuff is a knockoff of high-end european-style drinking chocolates such as schokinag which easily cost twice as much.

in my opinion, archer farms does everything very well

I bought a bag of the Archer Farms brand salted pistacios as well as the chile-lime ones and they were awesome. Trader Joes used to carry the chile-lime ones but it's on and off here in So Cal. I pine for the garlic pistacios they used to carry but that's another rant altogether ;-)

Sorry - haven't tried the hot chocolate mix. I have had the butter toffe with almonds and cashews a couple of times. It's very rich and buttery. I've also tried the Parmesan sourdough twists which were tasty - crispy and not too salty. If you can get the Archer Farms items on sale they're an even better bargain.

Someone else mentioned the hot chocolates. I was there today, and some of the flavors looked interesting (dark chocolate, Mexican chocolate). There's even a band across the lid, advertising that it's "made with premium cocoa;" however, when I read the ingredients, partially hydrogenated oils were listed, and I want to try and stay away from those.

*Sigh* I guess I'll stick with unsweetened cocoa powder, sugar and milk.

I use Archer Farms White cocoa mix, and also hope they will remove the trans fat soon. I mix it with cappachino mix, but only 1/2 tsp of cocoa. And the round tin is fantastic for crazy collectors like me - I use them to wrap presents.
Problem: I forgot where I bought it (somewhere in southern Maryland, maybe Bethesda). Anybody know where it is retailed in my area or on the web?.

I tried their yogurt (heaven knows what possessed me to do that!).

Gloppy with food starch thickeners. Fructosy-sweet. Heavy on the coloring. Big chunks o'fruit, tho.

All in all, a typical house brand yogurt, equivalent to any grocery store house brand.

Costco's house brand is a better choice if you're pressed for large quantities of cheap yogurt.

Not super chow-related, but I bought their bottled water on sale, and it tasted just like Evian.

I have to totally disagree with the water review. I bought a case and thought it was oily and disgusting.

Haven't tried the hot choc mixes, but have tried some of their chips and cookies. Haven't been impressed w/ anything yet.

While we're on the the subject of Target food, has anyone tried the Choxie line of chocolates? I'm assuming they aren't that great since I don't believe good choc can be cheap, but anyone have any reports to the contrary?

I know there are websites that review chocolate out there... you can type in "choxie chocolate review" if you want other websites, but I like Candy Blog (URL below).

I've tried a couple of Choxie varieties and have been pretty underwhelmed. (I'm somebody who usually manages to come home from a trip to the co-op with a $5 bar of Michel Cluizel, though.) The chocolate is waxy and low-quality, and the attempts at fancy decoration, etc., often just look sort of beat-up and forlorn. Disappointing.

I love their sour dried cherries. Also, they have a waffle cookie made with butter sandwiched together with dark chocolate. Very good with great ingredients.

In the archives someone raved about their potato chips. Especially the olive oil ones. I think they're all pretty good.

I was surprised to find these treats. I plan to try more of their stuff.

I am currently eating their chocolate covered pretzels. Perfect balance of salty sweet. Very good. They were also very cheap.

Archer Farms is Target's premium "house brand"
