Karl S. - Have you read "Omnivore's Desire" yet? I've just bought it because I enjoyed "Botany of Desire" so much. I look forward to a thought-provoking read. Very timely topic, especially after George Ritzer's "The McDonaldization of Society".

Terry Gross did an interview with Pollan on her show this afternoon. I found myself having what NPR calls a "driveway moment" when they are fundraising...that's where you've been listening to the show in your car and find yourself sitting in the driveway waiting for it to end so you don't miss anything.....Fascinating interview. The stuff about corn and corn syrup was downright scary....
