I knew they didn't taste as good. They also need more salt.

I kinda like the freaky superdryroastedness of them . . . but the faint sweetness of the corn syrup, I could do without that.

(I read the label for the first time about a week ago)

Pepsi or RC Cola. Outside of the south you probably think I'm nuts but try it.

Seems like Planters used to taste better but were they cocktail or Spanish peanuts?

Would love to hear if other hounds put peanuts in their sodas.

Yes. Absolutely. Live in Detroit area now but came from Ks/Mo area. Those little plastic packages of Planters are just right for a bottle of Coke or RC. Perfect combo of fizz, salt and cola! Won't work with diet.

Glad someone out there knew about peanuts in sodas. I've used those little bags of p-nuts in cokes all my life and sometimes get laughed at even in the south where it's likely more common. I'll post a note on my favorite peanut - the boiled peanut

Me too. Grew up in northern Florida. We all poured those peanuts into our coke bottles. When I went to college in Virginia, I found a lot of people there did it too. I've ofen thought my grandson would have fun with the experience, but he's not allowed to have soda!

Heck, in Lynchburg, Virginia, where I was raised, we didn't even call them soft drinks, but just "drinks".

I don't recall seeing Planters as much as another brand called Robinson Crusoe. They came in a clear wrapper with the man himself portrayed in red. We'd pour them into RC Colas...
