First, the best part. The smoked turket from GREENBERG'S in Tyler Texas arrived exactly on time and was the most delicious turkey we have ever tasted.

It is made with turkey, salt and spices and slow smoked. No nitrates, no chemicals, just pure, wonderful, luscious Texas turkey. We have had it as a main dish, and there are so many leftovers.

The price is super reasonable, and the people are delightful to deal with.

We immediately sent one to in-laws in Houston.
Turkey sandwiched on buttered brown bread... outstanding.

The great disappointment was ENSTROM'S toffee. Very ordinary, banal.Too much air and the chocolate covering falls off. The presentation is awkward and unappealing. Sheets of the stuff smashed into pieces.

Much prefer the excellent toffee from LI-LAC in the Village or at GRAND CENTRAL MARKET. Totally different, in small squares that are crunchy, solid and deliciously almond.

We were sent a pack of the Enstroms Toffee and are enjoying it. Admittedly far from an elegant presentation as you say, but tasty - I rather like the softness which doesnt challenge my teeth.

agreed. I have a sister in law who makes absolutely thin elegant toffee with again a thin elegant dark chocolate coating. While admiring that and finding it delicious, I really do enjoy the texture of this toffee. Maybe it reminds me of the heath bars of my youth.

I thought Enstroms was really good toffee, and so did everyone I shared it with. It arrived quite intact too. Banal? Can't even imagine that word applying to toffee.

Thanks for the heads up on a delicious sounding turkey. Have to disagree with you about the Enstrom's toffee. We send it to ourselves & others, & all find it to be wickedly good. With so few ingredients, the quality of the individual components has to be high.

Other than the dear, departed Keller's Crunch, Enstrom's is my favorite toffee ever. I love the texture. I just opened a box today for two food professionals, and they both commented on how much they loved the look of it, and I agree. The word I used was "homely." This year's batch came as whole sheets -- first time there wasn't some breakups.

I called and complained and they refunded my payment. The toffee from Li-Lac is a far superior, better looking product.

Yep, different taste. I'm not wild about the toffee at Lilac. I actually prefer the much cheaper See's toffee.

I love the way little pieces of almond and crunch crumbs end up in the Enstrom's box.
