Does anyone have a good source for real pita bread in the Oakland area? I'm looking for something better and fresher than the typical pita that's available at the supermarkets. Thanks!
Let me know when you find a good one. I’m of Greek ancestry and love good pita bread. The stuff in the stores is mediocre and not like the real thing. I will try the Berkeley bowl recommended ones.
HGC there has been a recent thread where a good pita was found at the new Berkeley Bowl just north of the Oakland line.http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/6098...
Doh, I posted this same question a year or more ago. Find a local ethnic market, that's your best bet.
I figured that a local ethnic market would be my best bet but which one? (That was what I was trying to discover by posting my question.)
