Does anyone have a good source for real pita bread in the Oakland area? I'm looking for something better and fresher than the typical pita that's available at the supermarkets. Thanks!

  1. Doh, I posted this same question a year or more ago. Find a local ethnic market, that's your best bet.

I figured that a local ethnic market would be my best bet but which one? (That was what I was trying to discover by posting my question.)

    2. HGC there has been a recent thread where a good pita was found at the new Berkeley Bowl just north of the Oakland line.

      1. Let me know when you find a good one. I’m of Greek ancestry and love good pita bread. The stuff in the stores is mediocre and not like the real thing. I will try the Berkeley bowl recommended ones.
