I usually get my fix of Early Harvest from Mcevoy Ranch, in California. I wondering where others get their fix, espcially how italian and domestic EH oils differ.

thanks..

some friends of mine have a small orchard and do a Tuscan style late harvest oil (mostly ripe olives vs. green):Tiber Canyon.(In fact it's picking week.) This is in San Luis Obispo Co, along the central coast. Their orchard happens to be in the coastal zone, but other local ranches are in the hotter, more Central Valley-type climate of Paso Robles, so you can get a range of oil types from SLO county. The ones I've tasted from Paso are very grassy flavor; Tiber Canyon tends to be more mellow and rich, due to the riper friuts used, I believe.

SLO county is becoming a known entity in California, with several oil companies winning medals. Yahoo! more good eats! There are several spots in Paso where you can taste local oils. Don't know where you live; maybe it's time for a coastal trip?

I usually get "Mission Variety Limited Release," "Sevillano Variety Fall Harvest," and "Manzanillo Variety Fall Harvest."

The unfiltered, seasonal pressings are also very good.

Considering how much I like their oils, I find it odd that I do not like the "Marsala" blend at all.

National award winning oil, year after year from Mauro Colonna at Le Case Gialle, Umbria, Italy. Eleven bucks a 750 liter bottle plus shipping (about the same cost). He will sell it in lots of six and it takes about a week to get.

750 liter bottles, eh. That's about 100 gallons -- quite a bottle. And just the liquid in 6 of them will weigh about 750 kg., plus the bottles.

Seriously, if I order six 0.750 liter bottles, what will I have to do to get them through US Customs?
