The holiday season is coming up soon. The yearly xmas cookies and goodies box will need lots of chocolate. Are there any good website sources that you know that sells either Scharfenburger or Valhalla chocolate in bulk? Or other high end chocolate?

Here's one place. I've linked you to their Valrona area, but they also sell other good chocolates. Just go to the home page and click on other brands.

I buy there all the time. Great site, and very good service. For baking, you might try the Guittard block or wafer chocolates.

Chocosphere does a good job. For Valrhona, you can try l'epicerie.com. A smaller selection than Chocosphere, but lower prices the last time I ordered.

Wendy, have you checked out Made in France/Le Village warehouse in Brisbane (see link)? Their next public sale is 9/23 and 9/24. When I was there last Nov., I saw Valrhona, Cote d'Or, and some others. There were a number of chocolate products (bars, chips, etc.) in bulk. You can always call to see what they have in stock for the sale.

Both Scharffen Berger and E. Guittard have "Pro" selections and will take on-line orders if you can't get to their shops. Don't overlook E. Guittard; their couverture chocolate is good enough for Recchiuti, and I think you can buy direct at the factory (Burlingame).

Wendy,

Another place to get good chocolate is the Ghirardelli factory store in San Leandro. They have really good buys on items like the filled chocolate squares. The last time we were there, we bought a 13-lb. carton of caramel-filled squares for $25.00. That was the only flavor available that day, but on other days they have other flavors -- I'd call before I went.
