Thomas Keller on Charlie Rose

The local SoCal PBS station ran a Charlie Rose Show last night featuring Thomas Keller. Pretty sure it was new and not a re-run.

I'm not that familiar with Keller, except by reputation, so I found the piece interesting if not particularly revealing. Quite a bit of discussion about the nature of the 'experience' at FL, PerSe and Bouchon being as much of the evening as the food. Lots of homage to producers of the 'product' they use. At one point, Rose asked if (using the Keller cookbooks) a home cook could duplicate the food served in the restaurants.......... Keller thought "yes", except that the average home cook would not likely have access to the same quality ingredients.

Rose is definitely a Keller fan. I've never had the pleasure of any of his restaurants, but from all the descriptions I've ever read, I can certainly understand why.

In our area, another PBS station re-broacasts Charlie Rose shows the next day. The Los Angeles channel is KLCS (Cox cable Channel 38 - 6PM).
