made a chicken dish last weekend but haven't had a chance to eat it - how long can a prepared dish stay in the fridge and remain safe for consumption?

prepared or cooked chicken or meat leftovers in the fridge are good for a couple to 3 days max, and then I toss them, bacteria builds up---cooked fish dishes I only keep for one day extra and then I toss. I have a friend who has a stomach of lead and keeps things around for awhile, so if you have sensitivity better to be safe than sorry....only stuff I keep around longer would be soup, or a tomato pasta sauce, or a casserole you are taking portions of and reheating---when I make my spinach pie, it lasts for about 5 days or so in the fridge--any longer than I freeze, and then defrost something I've cooked already. Hope this helps.
