<content>Yes, something you didn't buy at Vons.

Hear me out and don't jump on me until I finish. I know you are not going traditioal, but isn't there some little local treat you might include ... an artisan loaf of bread from a local bakery, some olives or side from a little deli or gourmet shop?

I took one look at this list and thought "This has to be someone who lives in the midwest with limited accss to markets. It is a list of things you would buy at any market you could step in from sea to shining sea. However, I see that Arrowhead ice in there, so I'm revising to LA suburbs.

Other than including SOME little special thing, it seems like a happy little weekend you have planned.

I'm eating out, but I needed something for breakfast and snacks.

For breakfast, I'm having Graffeo coffee with a cranberry orange loaf from the Cheeseboard in Berkely. Also, I love those little clemetines that show up this time of year.

In the evening, I have a fruitcake from the same Cheeseboard. It is soaked in three or four liquors and has dried fruit like apricots, not the icky, neon candied frit.

Not that I've escaped the Von's Safeway connection. I am ashamed to admit that I bought some stilton with cranberries at Safeway (aka Vons). There is just no excuse for this given I was at one of the top cheeseshops in the country ... sigh ... it just called out to me.

And yes, I've bought Orowheat as well. For some reason I am enchanted with cocktail bread this year. So I have some Orowheat rye cocktail bread which I plan to make tiny chicken salad sandwiches, just because they look cute.
