Does eating a lot of sugar make you tired and lethargic? Or is it just me?

I have noticed that if I consume a lot of sugar I have very little energy and am very lethargic. I have also noticed that I can eat a lot of candy or a sugary drink and be completely drained and sleepy shortly after. Has this ever happened to anyone else?
If you get no energy burst at all from the sugar then I would suggest a blood test is in order. East Point cook is on the right lines with this. I have diabetes & one of the first signs was when I would get tired in the after noon & go for a chocolat bar as a pick me up, not only didn't it pick me up it put me to sleep! You may not have diabetes but may be leaning that way and a complete blood test will let you know for sure.
