Hershey Bars

What's up with the new junky plastic wrapper on the Hershey Bars? I miss the slide-off sleeve printed with chocolate-scented ink and the foil. Do they realize the aesthetic devaluation they created?
I am going to quit buying the damn things.

  1. If this was the first time you came across the new wrapper, sounds like you already have given up on them.

    1. I gave up on Hershey bars about the time I discovered Ghirardelli. Actually, before that was discovering the Special Dark miniatures in the mini mix... nobody ever wanted those, leaving all the more for me.

      1. The Hershey company has not only screwed up the packaging of the Hershey Bar, but of every other classic candy brand that they've been buying up in recent years. Have you seen the attrocities done to the Reese's packaging since Hershey took over?

        1. Seems to me the packaging is of far less importance than the product itself. I am, however, one who will not buy a procuct if it is over-packaged in a particularly environmentally unfriendly way.

          1. I also dislike the new packaging. Maybe they did it for safety reasons--cannot be tampered with.

A whole industry was born based on their packaging. Both birth announcements for my kids were wrappers (pink or blue) which read "Heresheis" or "Hereheis" and have ingredients...sugar and spice, etc. for a girl. They are very cute.
