        <content>I know for a fact that my love of cooking came from watching her shows at an early age.
 
I am almost certain that most of the great food that we talk about in American restaurants owes something to her. 
 
What about you? What did Ms. Child mean to you?

      <content>You're quite right that this is not the appropriate place for this discussion, but you must agree that it *is* somehow wrong that Julia Child's death must be discussed on a board titled "Not About Food."</content>

      <content>I have a half dozen of her cookbooks including the first edition of Mastering I.  Don't use it much anymore, but its cover is almost falling off from use years ago.  She was, and is, one of a kind.</content>
