Roti-Trinidad & Malaysia [moved from General Chowhounding Topics]

I believe it was last week someone was asking for recipes for Roti from Trinidad and Malaysia. I picked up Madhur Jaffrey's new (2003) book, From Curries to Kebabs in my local library and there are recipes for both types in it.

Well, I own that book and let me tell you now, it is not roti as most Trinidadians know it, as in that delicious soft bread wrapped round a curry that you buy on the streets. It's just roti as in bread, more specifically a plain flat bread. A bit disappointing if you are looking for proper Trini roti!
