I bought Dreamfields elbows and spaghetti today but have not yet tried them. I am aprehensive. The last low carb pasta I bought, an Italian import, was so bad I threw it all out, cooked and un, and we went out for dinner. Dremfields is not cheap. Can anyone tell me I have not wasted my money?

From what I understand, the flavor or the pasta is just like other pasta. If you look at the label, it may say it has 40-something grams of carbs per serving. However, the website says that there is an ingredient in it that renders all but 5 grams of carbs digestible. That's how they claim to have only 5 grams of carbs per serving. As far as the taste and texture, from what I understand, it is good.

Please let both carb watching and diabetic Chowhounds know.

Maybe I will give it a try tonight, if not then tomorrow evening. I've not touched pasta since the first of last October. The box lists the following as the ingredients that make it so low. Inulin, Guar Gum, Carragenan, and pectin. There is also sorbitol. The other ingredients are enriched semolina, Iron, Thiamin momonitrate, riboflavin, folic acid, wheat gluten, and potassium choloride.
