      <content>Agar agar, is made from seaweed and/or algeas. You should be able to recipes for various gelatin-like dishes online. I think the texture is inferior.</content>

      <content>Just a word of caution though. dont make the mistake of using kosher gelatin as it is not vegetarian most times. Made from fish and even sometimes beef hides depending on the supervision. </content>

      <content>Along the lines of this post - there is a very interesting and informative article in this months 'Vegatarian Times' about ingredients in foods that are thought to be vegetarian but actually contain meat or dairy products. I don't believe they have all articles posted on-line but you may want to pick up an issue.</content>
