        <content>an aquaintance told me that a government study says that bottled waters are not that pure and there are surprisingly high levels of bacteria and other bad stuff. is any one in chowland up to date on this issue??</content>

      <content>Most companies will be willing to send you a report of a lab analysis of their water.  Of course, since anyone can lie (and folks selling stuff often do....), you'd want to check with the lab to see if it really exists, and if it really did the analysis.  (And if it is in fact an independent lab, and not one controlled by the water vendor.)
  
I vaguely recall that there is an association of some sort of water bottlers--perhaps it could help you, if you can find it.</content>
