Can you freeze prepared wasabi?

Recently had occasion (oh, alright, the significant other purchased it and she bought about 200 times as much as we could humanly use in a reasonably short period) to buy prepared wasabi in the store. I have been diligent about using it but there's just way too much. Suddenly hit me this morning: why not freeze it? I can't think of a single good argument against doing so but thought I would consult the collective wisdom of the board. Waddya all think?
Thanks,
Gypsy Boy

I buy S&B brand and keep it in the fridge. There is a date on the box, I try to use it up before the date, but I have used it past the date on the box.
