This article of an English-language newspaper in Japan gives some information not found in American media.

Its diagram, "the ways of the bean: How raw soybeans become some of the best-known soybean food products", is very interesting.

a very nice informative article about the mighty soybean. i aprreciated the reminders of all the health benefits. also, yes the picture graph is very interesting. i did not know it takes so many steps to make soymilk and tofu.

ps--i read this drinking some tasty homemade roasted barley iced tea w/ soymilk, but that is a grain for another day.

Agree....Although many made-in-America Web pages discuss a wide variety of soybean-based products, I have never seen anything like this.

The article focuses on the soybean's use in Japan -- but I'm finding that it's used in many, many products found on store shelves here in the U.S. I've recently discovered that I have soy allergies (along with other really nice recently-discovered food allergies), so I'm checking ingredients more often -- soy, in some form, is present more often than you'd think....

Interesting article. (You always want to read up on your "enemies!")
