Was reading in Southern Living about a recipe for chicken. Seems these folks put some bbq rub on a half a bird, put it in a paper sack, staple it shut. Then put in on an indirect heat pit at 225 for 2.5 hours.
Anyone tried this?
Curious,
Spencer

what issue? I can not find it in April or May. It sounds intriguing & I assume that the reason for the paper bag is to keep the moisture in the chicken. If I can find the receipt I will give a try & let you know.

Just make sure it is a paper bag for cooking and not a grocery bag. The chemicals in the bag (and sometimes metal shavings) is one of the reasons that people stopped recommending baking turkey in paper bags. See link below from University of Illinois.
