I know Millennium is a vegan-type restaurant; I like veggies/pasta and do not have to have meat/fish/poultry, but after looking a their menu, I am a little concerned that there might not be anything I might enjoy. Any thoughts or suggestions on choosing my dinner. Thanks.

Let's take a different tack. I can't help you with the food at Mellennium as I have never been; nor do I want to go and try it. If you are concerned you may not like it, why do you want to eat there? Research project?

No, not a research project. A family get together. But thanks for the input.

I was not very impressed with the food the last time I ate there (last August). I think the only dish I'd have considered ordering again was a pepita-crusted portobello that was OK, but not nearly as good as Rivoli's.

Some of the dishes were awful but it's hard to generalize except to avoid anything wrapped in phyllo. They don't oil the sheets so it comes out dry and gummy.

I have eaten here a few times and I find that if I just order appetizers I am fine, the entrees can be a little muddy with too many flavors and textures. There are tons of really interesting beverages (many of them without alcohol), and the desserts are hit or miss. For my vegetarian and vegan friends, this is the cat's meow.

millennium is definitely hit or miss, however some of the burden lies on the eater.
some of the foods in the vegan canon (tempeh, seitan, etc.) are acquired tastes.
and millennium tries hard to do really out there, weird, or intense things with these ingredients.
if you are not a person who is generally open to odd new flavors and textures, then this is maybe not the place for you.
i find that i like some of it, i detest some of it, and some of it is just boring. i agree with the previous post that appetizers are safer (if only because they're smaller) and that some desserts don't measure up.
i was there recently and had corn meal crusted oyster mushrooms that were fantastic, seitan au vin that was ho-hum (it just doesn't work for me with seitan), and a chocolate dessert that was fairly disappointing. i also tasted a yummy (cashew based) carrot soup and some other fake meat dishes that were quite tasty (albeit strange)

in general, i think that if there's nothing in the description for a dish that turns you off, then at the worst you will be bored, and not disgusted.

millenium just sucks. i don't know why -- i wish it were good. as a vegetarian (which means i don't eat fish or seafood), i would love a super yummy vegan place to eat experimental, interesting food. this is not millenium. i love tempeh, tofu, seitan. when a restaurant like firefly makes a tempeh dish, it's great. millenium's food is gooey, soggy, weird and just not tasty. greens is okay, not great, millenium is just bad.
