Dulce Jamoncillo?
This is a Mexican confection made by cooking and stirring (for a very long time time) evaporated milk and a quantity of sugar. (Maybe vanilla too.) The result is like fudge in consistency. It can be rolled into logs and cut in candies. Google was no help at all. It mostly likely comes from the Chihuahua area. I'm looking for proportions of milk to sugar.

Pat, I also have a version that is used in Sri Lanka that is similar, simple and yummy!
Sri Lankan Fudge
1 can sweetened condensed milk
2 c sugar
125 grams butter
1 tsp vanilla
mix 1st three ingredients in a heavy pan over low heat. stir constantly until thick and golden, about 20-25 mins.
Add the vanilla and stir until it is incorporated.
Pour into a lightly oiled pan lined with foil. Cut when not quite cool. you can add all types of things at the end of the cooking.

Pat, I found the following recipe by googling. It differs from what you are looking for in that it contains pecans. There are lots of similar recipes on the web, some of which use walnuts instead of pecans, and some add orange peel as well.

re: Pat Goldberg
Thank you, Pat! Lord knows what I plugged into Google last night. I'll look for the recipes using evaporated milk only, to see what I come up with.
I like the sound of the one you linked to, as well. I wonder if the addition of condensed milk makes shorter work of the process. Again, thanks a lot. Pat
