When dining out, Cobb salads do very nicely. Just watch the amount of avocado.

Atkins book has a number of good recipes. Also, the site www.lowcarbluxury.com has very good recipes for things like substitute mashed potatoes (made with turnips). Their newsletter is also quite helpful.

Good luck. I've lost twenty pounds without even feeling like I've been dieting!

It pays to invest in a couple of good low-carb cookbooks. I recommend two great ones both written by Fran McCullough. Her first one was "The Low-Carb Cookbook" and the second "Living Low-Carb." They have many very good if not great recipes with a lot of tips and information that is helpful. Another good one is "500 Low-Carb Recipes" by Dana Carpender. They are all available at Amazon.com. The McCullough books can be found in most bookstores. The Low-Carb Luxury as mentioned by another poster is a great source for recipes, products, articles, discussions and a host of other subjects. There are a lot of low-carb sites. All of the above contain lots and lots of vegetable recipes and some fruit ones as well. Contrary to the misconceptions, low-carbers eat lots of veggies. We avoid the ones with starch until we reach our goal and then we gradually introduce them in moderation back into our daily eating plans. We limit the fruit at first, especially the ones with lots of sugar. Stick to it, you won't be sorry!!!

I like an Australian site www.carb-lite.au.com. They have a lot of recipes with the carb counts although sometimes I think they are too good to be true. Don't let the nay-sayers get you down...it works.
