i don't know much about this brand. i just saw some bars for sale at kitchen market (chelsea, manhattan) and i was intrigued. they were the brasil nut/coconut ones though and since dried coconut's not my favorite i didn't buy. they have about a dozen other varieties on their website. i'm hoping their ecclectic flavors (like lavender, chai and lime) will be better than that save the rainforests brand's.

in general i like newman's own organic and rapunzel for organic chocolate. not crazy about green and black or the aformentioned rainforest ones with the ecclectic flavors. the ecclectic flavors have only disappointed thus far.

i'm kind of hoping dagobo will be the organic scharffenberger. :) any info--first or second-hand--that confirms or denies this hunch will be much appreciated.

thanks, everyone.

I was impressed with their chocolates - other brands I've bought at the health food store were not very good (ya know, that 'too healthy' taste), but I've had the milk chocolate and dark chocolate dagoba's and really liked them.

have a 'new moon' one 74% one in my desk drawer (has 74% cacoa content vs the 59% content in the dark chocolate) but have eaten too many m&m's today to do a taste test on that one right now

I have tried the one with cherries, and I thought it was very good. Nice snap to it. Right now you can order a sampler pack through chocophile.com (check out his review of Dagoba, too). You can also order directly through the company (I think) or through chocosphere (and at the same time order some other goodies, like Dolfin or Michel Cluizel chocolates! Yummmm).

UM anyone tried the hot cocoa mix of Dagoba's?
OR does anyone recomend an excellent Mexican Hot Chocolate? ::>one that is pretty much ready to go> ie. warm milk in sauce pan and melt chocolate, drink.
