I got as a gift a couple of bottles of the "two-buck chuck" the article talks about (a.k.a. Charles Shaw, which sells for $2 a bottle at Trader Joe's). To my palate, it's a waste of money. The merlot is thin-bodied and harsh, with a cardboard-y aftertaste, not even worth cooking with. But for those who like the stuff, it's a great value.</content>
