I know we're the last to get anything, but I was amazed to find Nestle's Quality Street chocolates in the Christmas candy section of Wal-Mart this week. $2 a box. Unlike Wal-Mart's evil fake Cadbury (really made by Hershey if you read the back or...taste the nasty things), these are actually produced in England and are a Nestle product.

The only difference I notice is that I swear the toffee bar one is crunchy in England, and now it's chewy. God knows I eat enough chocolate when I'm there, I could be wrong.

Who knows if they'll keep them after Christmas.

I always thought Quality Street was made by Rowntree Macintosh, though maybe Nestle bought them too and the name has gone for ever. They were always my favourite, muc nicer than Roses.

Or perhaps Nestle is producing them for the American market. I also like them better than Roses.

There are many UK chocs that are made under licence in the US. Kit Kat is the prime example of a great UK sweetie becoming a nasty US bastardisation

As far as I am aware ( and I am chomping on a few Quality St as we speak ) Quality St have always been made by Nestle

Roses are better. Celebrations even better still
