        <content>Although Japan's books and magazines carry many articles about Maitake mushrooms, I do not think that I  have ever read about them in an American newspaper before.

      <content>Thanks for the link, Hiko.  In the SF Bay Area, you can often find them at decent prices and good condition at Monterey Market in Berkeley or Fiesta Market in Sebastopol.</content>
