        <content>I love baguettes. They are food-of-the-gods bread. Does anyone have good recipes for these luscious loaves? I got a french bread pan for Christmas and would love some good recipes to use it for!! thanks. </content>

      <content>The following link takes you to the Julia Child: Lessons with Master Chefs episode that shows you how to make baguettes. There's a very good recipe on the site. And at the bottom of the page there are some links to the actual video presentation (you can see it right on your computer.) Great stuff!! I love actually seeing how things should look every step of the way.

      <content>  You also might want to check out Peter Reinhart's
"Crust &amp; Crumb" or Joe Ortiz's "The Village Baker."
These books cover other hearth breads.  Also, here's
a link to a clever idea for steaming your loaves.  The
author said the "patent" was a tongue-in-cheek joke,
but in software, I've seen stupider things patented,
so I askled.  I suggested he should write it up as a
tip for a cooking magazine.  I use a tilted drip pan
of quarry tiles and a removable tube instead, but the
idea's the same.
