A poster in the threat on lobster bisque mentioned Redibase lobster bisque base. Anyone know where to get this stuff, and similar soup bases, in consumer quantities? I've looked into some of these in the past, and they seem to be available mainly in institutional quantities, and also, only to buyers who do business regularly with the suppliers.

I buy them in institutional sizes, re-portion them out in small, zip-lock bags, and freeze them with contents and dates printed on the bags. That way I've always got some...

I was the one who posted about Redibase. I find the 1# tub is a convenient size. It contains about 96 1 teaspoon servings, which makes about 24 pots of soup. Just scrape out what you need when making soups or sauces, add to stews instead of salt for more flavor. I love the beef and use it a lot. Didn't like the chicken, find it too sweet.

Check this site...Costco carries Minor's Chicken and Beef base, and I'm trying to get them to stock Clam and Vegetable.
http://www.soupbase.com/pricelist.htm
You might join the campaign and email Costco to stock these bases.

I use the Redibase also. Like the beef base also; also like the chicken a lot; however when I had my heart attack I switched to their low sodium stuff. I'm impressed
