Cadbury's High Lights

This is an instant hot chocolate drink that my son brought to me from London. I tried a packet of it for the first time tonight; it makes a large mug-full with added hot water. The packet says it's less than 1% fat, only 40 calories per cup. I sure don't know what makes it so thick and rich (I probably don't want to know) but it's very good. I rarely buy diet drinks or food, but I'll definitely use all of this. Has anyone else tried it? I haven't seen it in the U.S.

  1. Haven't tried it; sounds terrific, but here's a footnote on thickness:

Someone told me recently that in Europe (especially Italy), to make those rich, thick steamed coffee drinks, they add cornstarch to the liquid before steaming. If there's an ingredient list on your Cadbury's package, see if cornstarch isn't in there.

Thanks, Holly. No, no ingredient list. I eventually considered that corn starch may be used. I can live with that! Now I want to find some more but it's most likely one of those esoteric Cadbury products that hasn't shown up over here. pat
