16,500 feet devoted to Spam in Austin, Minnesota. Tom Brokaw and the singing Spamettes will be there for the opening. Includes Spam's history, a simulated Spam production line and even Monty Python's "Spam, Spam, Spam" skit. Sounds like a must-see.

Me, too! My husband and I have been trying to picture a Spamette routine. Boggles the mind... It did remind him of the Spam sushi he was served on Kona many years ago. It was not a good memory...

Those Hormel folks know how to throw a party. I attended the annual SPAM Jam this past July (generally around the 4th). It was _very_ family oriented with lots of cheap entertainment for kids. All of the concession stands sold SPAM foods - grilled SPAM, SPAM tacos, SPAM pizza. The SPAM tacos were surprisingly good - the rest, merely OK.

We had a great time although I can't recommend Austin for much houndish dining. If you like loud, smokey blue-collar bars (I do) then you'll find plenty of nightlife.
