I have a vague recollection that when I was a child living in Illinois in the early sixties, more than once my father bought me corn dogs which had been baked in a corn-dog shaped waffle iron. We got it from a vending truck which was at the local shopping center.
Does anyone else remember something like this? I was small, so my memory may be faulty. My father has gotten forgetful, and my mother probably doesn't know he did it, because he had to supply us with junk food behind her back. She was a health food fanatic, and has such a need to be on the cutting edge of nutrition that she did and still does do all kinds of crazy things to their diet. (No, mom, moderation! Enjoy! Flavor!)
