Gourmet Magazine Choking Us With Advertising?

Wow, I received my copy of Gourmet yesterday and I was barely able to find the articles. The advertising is obnoxious. Is it just me or does anyone feel the same way?

  1. I stopped reading it years ago. Sure there are some good articles now and then but too much dregs to get thru.

      I stopped reading Gourmet years ago as the recipes became ever-longer lists of trendy and difficult to acquire ingredients, most suitable for the household with a large income and a culinary enthusiast who either doesn't need to work or who has household help.

        And now they're giving us recipes that are too easy! Ah for that happy medium...

          Magazines are entitled to make a buck, but there is only one reason to for such a high ad-edit ratio... greed.

          I also stopped reading it because there was so little of interest. Now I get Fine Cooking and my all-time favorite, Cooks Illustrated. (And of course Chocolatier because when you're as much a lover of chocolate as I am there just is no choice!)
