Weird--surreal, really--though it sounds, our General Topics board index causes severe indigestion to Netscape on Macintosh computers (only!). After loading about 2/3 of the way, Netscape freezes up.
At that point, your move is to hit command-option-escape to force quit Netscape, but you lose all your open windows in Netscape.
What's causing this problem is a gigunda thread on wine and food about 2/3 of the way down the index page. It's really really big and tangly, and that makes Mac Netscape neurotic. We'd delete the thread, but it's a great one.
So...here are three different options/workarounds.
1. when loading this board's index, hit the "stop" button after a few secs so that that part of the index doesn't load
2. use Microsoft Explorer
3. instead of browsing the board via indexes, do what regulars do and use our HotPosts feature (see top of our homepage) and also use our search engine to find stuff
Hope that helps. If you have questions/comments/replies, please leave them on our Site Talk board!
