Chowhound Dividend--the tables turn.
Usually its us who look longingly at what Asians have ordered in the Chinese, Korean or other Asian restaurants we frequent.
Last night the tables turned.
At the local Penang, here in Atlanta, the four of us welcomed the arrival of our six main plates (two of us were only moderately hungry).
The waiters had no sooner left the table than an Asian woman of a certain age peered over from her adjoining table of eight and with an oh-so-familiar smile (just like ours whenever we have had the nerve and sensed an opening) inquired what each of the dishes we had ordered were.
We repeated the name of each dish twice, with a brief description.
"This is only my second time here" she laughed. A few minutes she left, accompanied by her extended family.
