I know this is going to sound like a joke question but it's not. A couple of weeks ago, the New Yorker published a wonderful essay by Peter Hessler entitled "A Rat in My Soup" about dining on gourmet rat dishes at restaurants in China's Guangdong Province. The dishes had disgustingly tantalizing names such as Simmered Mountain Rat with Black Beans and Spicy and Salty Mountain Rat. Considering the heavy immigrant population in New York, I was wondering if anyone has run across any rat dishes at restaurants here in the city? Serious responses only please!
