japanese sixth sense

  • k

I wish I knew more about this, but I hope someone out there will be able to help me. What is the sense that is described in Japanese culture, sort of a sixth sense for the tastebuds, when something tastes so perfect? Or when one flavor matches perfectly with another? I think the word for it is something like "umaji," but I know that's not it.

  1. You were soooo close! The word I think you are looking for to describe that particular sense of taste is "umami" and it is used to describe a savory, meaty flavor.
