Has anyone ever tried this? Is it good? I've seen recipes for it and like all the ingredients but I've never tasted it. Any comments? Thank you!

If you like Caesar salad dressing and herbs, you will like Green Goddess dressing. Personally, I love it, although not many places serve it anymore.

Here's a recipe from my "Dear S.O.S., Thirty Years of Recipe Requests to the LA Times" cookbook:

2 C. Mayo
1-2 T. anchovy paste/mashed anchovies
1 C. sour cream
1-1/2 T seasoned salt
3 T minced parsley
3-5 cloves garlic, mashed
1/2 medium onion, minced
1/2 tsp dry mustard
1 T. tarragon vinegar
1/2 tsp celery seeds
1/2 tsp thyme
1/2 ripe avocado, mashed
1/2 tsp worcestershire sauce

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Enjoy!

Thank you Dana! I'll try it. I'm just entranced by the idea of anchovies, avocado, and more. I mean, can you think of any dish that uses both of those?
