I'm looking for favorite cupcake recipes. I have never made homemade cupcakes and want to give it a shot -- any flavor/type welcome! Frosting recipes welcome too!

I am having a hectic morning - so can't post recipes, but here's a website that'll help you out. It's mostly pictures, but some link to blogs that will have recipes and such. Keep an eye out for Chockylit's cupcakes, she has a spectacular website.

It is the same as making regular sized cakes but I do recommend using cupcake/muffin liners in the tins as I would use buttered parchment in the bottom of a cake pan and especially with chocolate. Chocolate cake has a bad reputation for sticking. Then use your favorite cake recipe and that is all there is to it. Nothing special, just use your imagination.

Just remember that when using a cake recipe, the baking time is typically 75% of the cake baking time when making cupcakes.

Black bottom cupcakes are the best cupcakes I've ever eaten. Give 'em a try.
