I bought the Cuisinart at Best Buy for $129.

We use it all the time and I think it is worth the money.

I'll chime in with a resounding YES to Cuisinart. I have "The Griddler" model. It has temperature controls, comes with two sets of plates (grill and flat) and they are dishwasher safe. It's worth every dime!

I've been happy with the Australian Breville press. The model I have only has flat plates, but I can control the height of the top plate. Besides sandwiches I use it to grill stuffed mushrooms.

The difference between the Cuisinart and the other cheaper models is the removable grill plates that are dishwasher safe. I wish I had realized this before I bought one of the less expensive ones that is more difficult to clean than I'd like. In retrospect, I would not hesitate to buy the Cuisinart and would use if more often than I use my current one because of the ease of use/cleaning.

My Breville plates are not removeable, but they are flat and nonstick. So I don't need anything more than a couple of paper towels to clean them.
