I've been wanting to get a 2nd oven, but didn't want to remove the microwave from the wall to do so. It looks like GE now has an oven that is a speed oven/microwave/convection oven/warming oven all in one. Does anyone know anything about this?

I have been looking at Advantiums for awhile, actually since they came out. I am intrigued becuase I do have a full sized oven there are times when I need more than one and the two of us are jockying for oven time. While Advantiums use light and therefore dry heat as opposed to a microwaves moist heat my major problem has been refitting my kitchen. I have custom made cabinets and I would have to have the maker come and refigure some of the cabinet space because what I have seen of Advantiums is that they need to be built in. They don't do a simple under cabinet or counter top model.

I have an Advantium oven built-in, that came w/ my townhouse.

I use it mainly for microwaving, but I have used it a few times for speedcooking/baking.

The electronic menu has pre-set cooking times and profiles for different foods like frozen/fresh pizza, baked potatoes, breads, etc. I found that with baked potatoes, it required a few extra minutes beyond the pre-set profile, but they came out well.

I tried fish sticks once and they were dried out. I probably over-cooked them.

I have not used it to bake cookies or other items. Honestly, I forget it's there or I am uncertain about how long to cook an item.

I'll try to use it in the near future and get back to you, but hopefully there are others out there that use the speedcooking feature and can report back sooner.
