Where to purchase it? Is it an odd question to ask a butcher behind the counter if I could purchase an amount of it? Maybe WS would sell it but I don't have one anywhere around me.
TIA

Bad Breath & Beyond oughta have it - I hope so, because I'm going over there this afternoon to get some! Linens'n'Things, any other cookware store.

I use both the thin waxed string and the heftier cotton twine, depending on what I'm tying up and how, and can often find the latter at hardware stores, on those tapered cores. Just be sure it's 100% cotton.

I buy mine at my hardware store.

Have you seen those new new reusable cable ties for food? They come with their own little mesh bag so they can go in the dishwasher. I bought a set at Bed Bath etc. before Christmas and was given another set for Christmas.Sur la Table had them when I was in yesterday and Bed Bath etc. has them too. They are heat resistant up to 675 F. Called The Food Loop and run about $14.99 a set.

I bought a big spindle at my local restaurant supply store. It was something like $6, and I still have plenty left after 4 years.
